Rainy afternoons inside

Clouds releasing held back tears

Drenching the freshly cut grass



The sun peeks through

And dries the sobs

Casting a beautiful glow



We race outside

Into the warmth

It finally feels like summer

At the Mill

These are some really old pictures of some of my class in sixth grade. We were on our way back to school when we decided to stop at the Pataha flour mill. Ashley was looking around downstairs when she discovered a bunch of dress up clothes and a picture-taking area. Of course we all ran to change into something amazing, and this was the result! (And the date on the picture was wrong! It should have been 2008, not 2028, just in case you thought we could time travel)

1 John 4:7

1 John 4:7 "Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God."

I really like this Bible verse. It shows how it would be impossible to love without God, and if you love, you're a child of God. God has unconditional love for us, so we should share some of that with others. It doesn't matter what we say or what we do, He will always love us and forgive us. It is impossible for Him to be mad at us. It's not in his character. In my daily life, I want to take on that trait. We probably would have world peace if everyone just loved each other instead of getting mad at every little thing.

Safe Blogging

The Internet is a very useful, but dangerous place. You have to be careful what you say, and who you say it to. Not everyone is who they say they are. It's easy to lie about age, gender, or anything else when nobody can see you. Another thing is that once you put something on the Internet, it's likely to stay there. Don't put anything on that you'll later regret. Be interactive. Comment on other people's blogs, post blogs that will prod others to comment, and ask questions. Elaborate. Don't do a Facebook status where you only say a couple of words that leave everybody hanging. Add more! Be very careful when choosing your words. Don't give away personal information, or say something you wouldn't want your future boss or anyone else to read. Here is my personal code of conduct for using the Internet:

1. Don't post any personal information, i.e. name, address, age, or phone number
2. Leave thought provoking entries and questions for other people to comment on
3. Read through all links and make sure that's what I really want going on my blog
4. Post interesting entries, but know that whatever I put out will most likely be out for a long time, I can't take it back
5. Comment on other people's blogs. Strike up a conversation.

Spring Banquet

Our class had a Spring Banquet a couple weeks ago to demonstrate our excellent manners. The food was delicious, and the entire event was a lot of fun. While we were eating, we also got to view a performance. It was about Goldilocks and the three bears, and very entertaining. The sixth and seventh graders served us our meal, which was five courses. All the girls looked amazing in their fancy dresses. Overall, the evening was a blast.

The Stunning Seasons

Golden leaves
Flutter to the ground
Blanketing the grass
In a blanket of crispy color

Crunch crunch crunch
Stomp across the yard
Dive into a hill of leaves
Laugh all day

Winter soon comes
We’re trapped inside
While a storm is brewing
We wait and wait

The sun is shining
Running, leaping
In our puffy coats
Lay down on the ground
And create a beautiful angel
Out of powdery snow

Snow soon melts
And flowers begin to bloom
Spring has arrived

Playing in the rain
Has never been so fun
Puddle jumping all day long

Heat waves roll through the air
Summer sun shining down
Giving warmth to the city

Sipping lemonade cools me off
As I sit on the beach
Watching family splish and splash

The seasons are so wonderful
With joy and happiness galore
Adding change to our world
And giving us marvel

Baby Joshua

My aunt recently had a baby boy. Joshua is the first boy born on my mom's side of the family (Besides my family). I'm really excited because I get to see him this summer. He has two older sisters, Natalie and Larissa, who are 3 and 5 years old. In addition to having a new baby, my aunt also got a new puppy. In my opinion, Joshua is way cuter than the puppy, though.
